What’s in the LRC?

A wide range of resources to support your course including:

  • Computers with Internet access linked to colour and black and white printers
  • Books
  • Newspapers, magazines and journals, both in hard copy and on-line
  • Televisions for videos and DVDs
  • Videos
  • DVDs
  • Audio-cassettes
  • Sets of slides

The LRC bookstock consists of over 35,000 items and there are over 100 different journals to consult on a variety of relevant subjects. Most books are available for loan with a few of the most popular titles short loan.

In order to keep up to date, over a thousand new resources are introduced into the LRCs annually and access to current information and electronic resources is available through the LRC computers.

GaLW – Gateway to Libraries in Wrexham

GaLW is a network of the public, higher and further education libraries, the archives and local studies services, the Schools Library Service and the Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham (AVOW).

Through the GaLW partnership, students and staff at Yale College are able to use the other libraries within the GaLW scheme to borrow certain material and for reference access.

Other libraries within the scheme include:

  • North East Wales Institute (NEWI) Library
  • Wrexham Library, including all the branch libraries
  • Wrexham School of Health Studies Library

To join, call into a GaLW library and ask for a joining form. If you are a current member of another library in Wrexham, take along your identity card and a proof of address with you.
