There are smiles all round as Yale College’s Foundation Construction learner, Bobby Blythin gets an award for his plastering at the Construction Skills Wales – junior skills competition in Cardiff recently.
Budding plasterer Bobby is in his second year on a FCA (Foundation Construction Award), leading to an NVQ. He impressed colleagues and competitors alike when demonstrating he is clearly a smooth operator when it comes to plastering walls for Wales.
Employed locally by AR Jones, Plastering Contractors of Garden City, Deeside, Bobby is certainly set for a promising career in the construction industry. The firm will reap the benefits of letting him switch his work days to fit in the competition – as his excellent skills have now been recognised nationally.
“Competition is tough for Construction Skills Wales,” commented Graham Evans, Assistant Director for Enterprise & Technology at Yale College, “Bobby’s performance illustrates the high standards we are achieving at Yale and we are all very proud of him.”
