INTRODUCTION
This qualifcation may only be studied as part time course.  it is suitable for candidates who require a stepping stone between entry level and a full level 1 qualification, it can be can be used as a taster to the industry.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
No previous qualifications required, however candidates will need to have a suitable level of basic skills.

COURSE CONTENT 

All six units will need to be covered in order for the full award to be achieved

1.       Safe working practices in equine establishments.

2.      Identifying horses & ponies.

3.      Catch and handle a horse/pony in the stable.

4.      Skipping out and tidying a stable.

5.      Groom a horse or pony.

6.      Feed and stabling.

 

ASSESSMENT
This qualification is assessed by continual work based assessment and completion of a portfolio. 

Course Fees

Full-time students do not pay course or examination entry fees, except in some cases when there are examination re-sits. Part-time students pay course fees, which are displayed in College publications or are obtainable from Admissions, and examination entry and / or registration fees.
