INTRODUCTION
The candidate must show an ability to look after up to 4 horses in stables and at grass and to ride a variety of horses under a variety of circumstances. He/She should be tactful yet effective, understanding the reasons for their actions both in the horse care and whilst riding.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
BHS Horse Knowledge, Care and Riding Stage 2 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 (with Riding/Schooling Horses unit) and Riding and Road Safety Test
COURSE CONTENT
As Stage 2 with the addition of Travelling horses, Lungeing, Stable design, Action, Horses Behaviour, Fittening, Watering & feeding. Riding: Candidates should show a feel for their horses and have an appreciation of weaknesses. They should begin to school horses and ride them according their needs.
ASSESSMENT
Assessment is through examination at a BHS approved exam centre.

Full-time students do not pay course or examination entry fees, except in some cases when there are examination re-sits. Part-time students pay course fees, which are displayed in College publications or are obtainable from Admissions, and examination entry and / or registration fees.
